Drivers in the Northeast will be lending a hand to help raise money for charity this weekend. The Maine Professional Drivers Assn. is scheduled to have its annual Convoy for Kids truck parade and show in Brewer, ME, Saturday, June 5.

MPDA is asking parade drivers to raise money through donations and pledges for the Children's Miracle Network. The goal is to raise $5,000. The top three fundraisers will receive L.L. Bean gift certificates — $300 for the top fund-raiser, $200 for second place and $100 for third.
The parade is open to companies and private individuals, and to trucks of all sizes. It will go through Brewer and Bangor and end at Dysart's parking lot across from the truckstop.
In addition to the parade, the Convoy for Kids event will feature raffles, demonstrations, music and food, as well as children's activities. A truck show will let truck owners compete in classes such as tanks, antique, straight truck, flats, vans, twins and heavy equipment.
