Nov. 7 – U.S. 95 near Bonners Ferry, ID, was reopened earlier this week, 19 days after a mudslide closed the road to commercial trucks.
About 100 yards of the highway’s northbound lane were destroyed in the slide. Commercial trucks had to make a two-and-a-half-hour detour through western Montana. Idaho Department of Transportation officials initially thought it might take months to reopen the damaged section.
