Diesel Forecast for 2014 Drops to $3.73

Falling Brent crude oil prices has once again lowered the projected average price for diesel in 2014. The U.S. Energy Department’s Energy Information Administration’s new Short-Term Energy Outlook expects diesel fuel prices, which averaged $3.97 per gallon in 2012, are projected to average $3.91 per gallon in 2013 and $3.73 per gallon in 2014.

Trucking Group Challenges Insinuations in Pilot Flying J Case

Questions about the role of a key player in the litigation against Pilot Flying J prompted a strong rebuttal from the trucking company group. Lane Kidd, president of the Arkansas Trucking Association, said in a statement that he created National Trucking Financial Reclamation Services last April to seek justice for trucking companies that allegedly had been defrauded by Pilot Flying J.

Crude Oil, Diesel Prices Projected to Fall

In its Short-Term Energy Outlook report, the Energy Information Administration projects that Brent crude along with diesel prices will see a slight decrease in 2013 and 2014. EIA projects that the Brent crude oil spot price, which averaged $112 per barrel in 2012, will fall to an average of $105 per barrel in 2013 and $99 per barrel in 2014.
