CARB Unveils Proposed Changes to California’s Truck and Bus Regulation

The California Air Resources Board unveiled proposed amendments to its Truck and Bus Regulation. The amendments are designed to provide new flexibility to truckers working to clean up their aging diesel fleets while still protecting the important emission benefits the regulation provides. CARB members will consider the changes at the April 24 hearing.

Tips For Keeping Your Truck Operational In Extreme Cold

The recent extreme cold experienced by whole parts of the nation has put an increased burden on trucks and truckers. According to Mel Kirk, vice president of maintenance operations Ryder Systems Inc., diesel fuel and diesel exhaust fluid will freeze in extremely cold temperatures.

Pilot Flying J Makes Investment in DEF Pumps

Pilot Flying J now offers diesel exhaust fluid at the pump at 3,000 fuel lanes across the U.S. Pilot Flying J first started offering DEF at the pump in 2009. The company has now invested more than $165 million in expanding its network of DEF at the pump.

DEF Prices Stay Level

The U.S. national DEF pump price remained level at $2.79 per gallon for the third consecutive month in February 2013. Prior to this period, the national average has only held steady month-to-month once, which occured in April 2012.

At the current growth rate the number of truck stops offering bulk Diesel Exhaust Fluid at the pump will reach the 1,000-location mark by mid-February 2013, reports DEF Tracker.
