PG&E Requires CNG Tank Inspections by Dec. 12

Concerned that compressed natural gas tanks in customers’ vehicles might not be sufficiently safe, Pacific Gas & Electric is requiring inspections as a condition of continued use of the company’s filling stations.

Penske Truck Rental has 85 compressed natural gas Freightliner Cascadia semi-tractors available for commercial rental use in select markets. These days cab semi-tractors are equipped with Cummins Westport 12-liter engines.

Questar Fueling Starts Construction on CNG-Fueling Station in DeSoto, Texas

Questar Fueling Co., a subsidiary of Questar Corp., is building a compressed natural gas fueling station in DeSoto, Texas. The public-access station will provide fast-fill CNG fueling for fleet operators with medium- and heavy-duty trucks as well as motorists who drive light-duty natural gas vehicles. The station will open in July.

New Public CNG Station Opens in Orlando, Fla.

A new fast-fill compressed natural gas station located at 2920 Silver Star Road in Orlando has recently opened its doors. The station is located at Lewis Petroleum’s Silver Star Fuelman in the Princeton Industrial Park, just two blocks from Frito-Lay North America’s Orlando plant.

Con-way Freight Expands Freightliner Natural Gas-Powered Tractors in its Fleet

 A new Freightliner Cascadia 113 day cab leaves a natural gas fueling station in Rock Hill, S.C. after taking on its first fill-up of compressed natural gas (CNG). Con-way Freight, one of the nation's leading commercial trucking firms, took delivery of the unit recently and is putting it into service in the Texas market. Featuring the Cummins Westport ISX 12 G natural gas-powered engine, it's Freightliner's first Cascadia 113 day cab with factory installed tanks to go into service.

Con-way Freight has added Freightliner Cascadia 113 natural gas-powered tractors to its fleet. Freightliner began production of the Freightliner Cascadia 113 natural gas-powered tractors in August 2013, and these Con-way Freight units are the first Cascadia day cabs with factory-installed compressed natural gas tanks to hit the road.

Love’s Travel Stops Announces Fast-Fill CNG Expansion in Burbank, Ohio

Love’s Travel Stops will introduce fast-fill compressed natural gas fueling capability for heavy-duty trucks and a CNG fueling option for passenger vehicles at its travel stop located on Interstate 71, at Exit 204, in Burbank, Ohio. The Love’s Fast-Fill CNG station is expected to open mid-summer 2014.
