As MATS Begins, ATA, HDMA/MEMA Team Up for New Trucking Show

The American Trucking Associations, along with the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association division of the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association, announced on Thursday they are working with global event management and trade show firm Messe Frankfurt Inc. to develop a new, biennial North American-based truck and transportation event.

Graves to Step Down from ATA Post in 2016

34-Hour Restart Likely to Be Suspended, Studied

Trucking interests are close to victory in their fight to suspend the current 34-hour restart provision of the hours of service rule. The appropriations bill negotiated by the Senate and House will cut off funding for enforcement of the restart while the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration studies its impact.

The turnover rate at large truckload carriers rose just one percentage point to an annual rate of 92% in the first quarter of 2014, but held above 90% for the ninth consecutive quarter, according to new figures released by the American Trucking Associations.
