WORK TRUCK SHOW – Freightliner Trucks announced new value-added option packages for its M2 106 medium-duty trucks, featuring Allison’s new FuelSense product paired with the Cummins ISB6.7.

“When packaged together, our new options results in a smart business solution that contributes to fuel efficiency, as well as driver satisfaction,” said Mary Aufdemberg, director of product marketing for Freightliner Trucks. “In addition to performance features, we’ve bundled some of our most popular exterior appearance, comfort and convenience options that drivers will appreciate during their long hours behind the wheel.”

Efficiency Package

Designed to maximize efficiency for pickup & delivery applications, this option package combines the new Allison FuelSense transmission programming with a DTNA-exclusive Cummins ISB6.7 engine rating of 220 horsepower and 600 pounds-feet of torque.

FuelSense is a package of transmission programming that automatically adapts to engine duty cycles and specific working conditions, significantly enhancing overall vehicle fuel efficiency. Results are optimized when FuelSense is paired with the Cummins ISB6.7 engine, Freightliner says.

Freightliner Trucks has packaged this powertrain combination with additional fuel economy enhancing options like low friction axle lube, an optimized drive axle ratio, and Michelin SmartWay tires designed for pickup & delivery applications.

Professional Image Package

The professional image package focuses on the exterior of the cab. It features a variety of chrome and bright finish options for the M2 106, including a chrome hood mounted air intake grille; a hood-mounted chromed grille; a 14-inch round polished air horn; chrome headlight bezels; bright-finished heated and remote mirrors; and polished stainless steel steps.

Driver Retention Package

Combining popular premium interior features, the Driver Retention Package for the M2 106 will enhance driver comfort during long hours and tough working conditions, Freightliner says.

This driver retention package complements the M2 106’s standard fully automatic Allison transmission. Options include additional storage compartments; a wood grain dashboard and instrument panel; additional in-dash 12V power outlets; a high back air suspension seat; dual driver seat armrests, and an adjustable tilt and telescoping steering column.

These new packages will be available to order this summer.
