Chinese tiremaker Triangle Tyre Group has announced the formation of Triangle Tire USA, the company’s new U.S. subsidiary aimed at the truck tire market.
Longtime industry executive Manny Cicero has been named CEO of Triangle Tire USA. The company will market and sell medium- and heavy-duty truck tires as well as a lineup of passenger and light-truck tires. The company will also serve the construction, mining, and aggregates industries here with off-road tires, including giant radials.
Cicero is currently filling positions for the subsidiary in finance, sales, marketing, engineering and customer service, according to Triangle. He will be meeting with key tire distributors to help Triangle establish a foothold in the U.S. market.
“We look forward to establishing strategic, long-term relationships with key U.S. tire distributors and dealers, working closely with them to provide high-quality, technologically advanced tires to American consumers and business owners,” said Ding Yuhua, chairman of Triangle Tyre Group.
Triangle announced plans to establish a U.S. headquarters in Franklin Tenn., in November and has opened a technical center in Akron to help develop tires for the U.S. market.
