Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems has appointed Berend Bracht as president and CEO and a member of its executive board, effective July 1, 2015.
Current president and CEO Joe McAleese will transition out of that position and step fully into his role as Bendix chairman, a role he has held since 2014. Upon Bracht’s arrival, Bendix will transition from a two-person executive board to a three-person board. Bracht will join McAleese and chief operating officer Carlos Hungria.
Bracht is coming to Bendix after an accomplished 24-year career at Bosch Rexroth, an international drive and control technology company headquartered in Germany. He was most recently president and CEO of Bosch Rexroth Americas, a post he has held since 2007.
“Berend possesses a wealth of leadership experience on the global stage and the keen ability to grow businesses both organically and via acquisition,” McAleese said. “We are very excited that he is joining Bendix.”
While at Bosch, Bracht served in several key management roles around the world, including assignments in China and Germany. Bracht holds an MS in mechanical engineering and an MBA from Technical University of Munich, Germany.
“I’m truly honored to become a member of the Bendix team as the new president and CEO,” said Bracht. “I will focus on continuing to build on the organization’s strong foundation, momentum, customer focus, and innovative mindset.”
