Webb Wheel has published a newsletter providing tips on how to remove brake drums that are not easily pulled off the hub pilot pads. The quarterly newsletter came out on March 23.

Drums sometimes become frozen onto the hub due to corrosion and Webb explains the proper procedure for loosening a stubborn drum without component damage or potential personal injury.

The tips will also be included in the Technology and Maintenance Council’s RP 662, available in May.

Webb wheel develops, manufactures and supplies commercial vehicle wheel end components. The company’s quarterly newsletter offers technical advice to vehicle operators and service personnel.
