Meritor Names Jay Craig President, COO; Mark Evans Sr. Director, Aftermarket Field Sales

UPDATED -- Meritor appointed Jay Craig as president and chief operating officer, effective June 9.
Previously, he was senior vice president and president of Meritor's Commercial Truck & Industrial segment. Craig will continue to report directly to Ike Evans, chairman and CEO.
"In Jay's new role, he'll have responsibility for both of our business segments, Commercial Truck & Industrial and Aftermarket & Trailer," Evans said. "Jay and I have worked closely together over the past year and share a common vision for the company's future. His commercial experience, in addition to his extensive financial background, makes him the ideal candidate for this position."
Craig earlier served as senior vice president and chief financial officer at Meritor from 2009 to 2013 and has held various positions at the company since 2006. Before joining Meritor, he was president and CEO of General Motors Acceptance Corp.'s Commercial Finance organization from 2001 to 2006, and president and CEO of GMAC's Business Credit division until 2001. He joined GMAC in 1997 from Deloitte & Touche where he served as an audit partner.
Craig holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Michigan State University and an MBA from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
The company has also appointed Mark Evans to senior director, field sales, aftermarket, North America.
Evans is responsible for the strategic management and growth of service parts sales and training as well as ensuring customer satisfaction across key distribution channels, such as independent warehouse distributors, OEM dealers and fleets, in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Evans is based in Florence, Ky., and leads more than 40 district managers and regional directors.
“Our business places high value on customer service through our field sales organization,” said Craig Frohock, vice president, aftermarket. “Mark bolsters our team of professionals who strategize, counsel and plan parts programs and training for customers every day.”
Most recently, Evans was a senior sales executive for Milacron. Previously he served in senior sales positions at Hillenbrand and Tennant. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Martin and holds an executive certification from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Meritor supplies drivetrain, mobility, braking and aftermarket products for commercial vehicle and industrial markets.
