Ford Reaches Settlement over Navistar Engines
October 29, 2013
Ford has agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit over claims that it sold defective diesel engines in its 2003-07 Super Duty pickups and E-series vans, according to Automotive News.
It reports the now discontinued diesel 6-liter V-8, manufactured by Ford's former diesel engine supplier, Navistar International, had a number of problems with the fuel system, turbochargers and other major components.
The settlement reportedly resolves many class-action lawsuits and allows owners to receive money so they can be reimbursed for post-warranty repairs to the engines. The engines are equipped with exhaust gas recirculation technology and were eventually replaced with a Ford engine in later model trucks and vans.
You can read more about it from Automotive News as well as get more details on how to obtain money if you or your company is eligible to participate in the settlement.
