Kenworth of South Florida has opened a new parts and service location near U.S. Route 1 in Fort Pierce, Fla., about 3 miles east of Interstate 95.

The new parts and service location joins Kenworth of South Florida’s Fort Lauderdale facility, about 110 miles to the south, and a parts location opened in 2012 in Riviera Beach.

“Fort Pierce is experiencing growth in the agricultural industry as citrus exports to Asia expand and with that has come an increasing need for truck parts and service by local agricultural haulers and farms,” said Todd Hays, dealer principal of Kenworth of South Florida.

Fort Pierce is home to one of Florida’s 14 deepwater seaports and in 2012 the Florida Legislature and governor passed significant funding for seaport and intermodal projects. An update of the Port of Fort Pierce Master Plan in 2012 identified several enhancements that could be done to the regional transportation system and the port with a focus on attracting more break bulk, bulk and more regional cargo from smaller vessels.

“We also anticipate our new parts and service location will be important in serving the needs of asphalt contractors, construction companies, seafood haulers and beverage distributors as port activity continues to increase,” Hays added.

Kenworth of South Florida – Fort Pierce is located at 1850 South U.S. Route 1, near downtown Fort Pierce and the waterfront, about a mile from the Fort Pierce Inlet. The 13,000 square-foot building provides room for an extensive parts inventory in a 4,100 square-foot parts area. The dealership offers customers ample room to park their trucks and trailers. A driver’s lounge offers wireless Internet.

There are 12 service bays and a mobile service truck, which can respond to the remote service needs of agricultural product haulers and citrus farms and other customers. The location will also offer parts delivery.

The new parts and service location is part of a Kenworth dealer network of nearly 340 locations in the United States and Canada.
