On Dec. 16-17, industrial/truck auctioneer Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers will hold what it calls the first-ever video-link auction, with simultaneous participation from three cities.
Ritchie Bros. also claims the unreserved (no minimum selling prices) auction, to be held in St. Paul, MN, is America’s largest truck and trailer auction for 1997.
A videoconferencing system featuring 52-inch video screens will allow St. Paul, MN, Clinton, IL, and Kansas City, MO, buyers to see each other bid on more than 2,500 items.
Featured trucks and trailers include 70 WhiteVolvoGMC WG42T, 150 IHC 8200 S/A, 15 IHC 8200 T/A and 1,300 S/A vans, spread among the three locations. Free registration and inspection of items are available starting Dec. 11 at all three locations, continuing through to sale day. On Dec. 18, there will be a dock, shop, office and support equipment auction in St. Paul only.
