Ford Motor Co., Arlington, VA, expects to add 150 natural gas vehicles to its Southeast Michigan fleet.
Ford’s partner in the project is the Michigan Consolidated Gas Co., which will construct a natural gas fueling station and deliver gas to Ford’s Dearborn, MI, Research and Engineering Center.
“This joint effort by two of the leaders in the NGV industry is just another indication of the growing vitality of the NGV market,” said Richard R. Kolodziej, president of the Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition. “Both Ford and General Motors will be expanding their NGV product offerings next year, and we expect American Honda, Chrysler and possibly others to join them the following year.”
