Cummins Engine Co.’s B5.9LPG dedicated heavy duty propane gas engine has received certification to the 1999 Environmental Protection Agency Clean Fuel Fleet Vehicle Low Emissions Vehicle standard. The engine also meets CARB Optional Low NOx standards.
Available for bus and truck markets, the spark-ignited power plant features advanced electronic engine management, closed-loop air/fuel ratio control, lean-burn technology and integrated subsystems.
Cummins alternative fuel engines are said to power more than 2,400 vehicles in various fleet applications operating with more than 150 million miles in revenue service.
