Owens Community College, Toledo, OH, has joined with Dana Corp., Certified Power Train, Freightliner, Inland Truck Parts, Mack, Mack of Canada, Paccar and Western Start to create a unique program to train service parts managers for heavy truck dealerships and truck parts distributors.
The program, said to mark the first time the manufacturers, suppliers and distributors have combined for such a cooperative effort, has been approved by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. The curriculum will include classroom training and hands-on work experience at heavy duty dealerships and parts distributors, along with elective courses in management, salesmanship, English, math and science.
