The Truckload Carriers Association has hired a "membership field representative" to recruit new members, especially carriers.

Jack Milligan, based in Topeka, Kan., will call on companies and attend state association meetings and other industry events to help recruit more trucking companies and publicize TCA, according to the association's newsletter.
Milligan was formerly with the National Association of Independent Truckers, where he served as president for one year. During this time, he increased membership from 8,000 to 11,000 and developed several value-added benefit programs for its owner-operator members, such as discount fuel and calling cards and a discount tire purchasing plan.
For 17 years prior to that, he worked for the American Trucking Associations, most recently as vice president of membership development.
