Funds may be available to purchase alternative-fueled heavy trucks in Southern California under a $14.5 million program administered by the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee.

The MSRC is a committee responsible for funding transportation projects that reduce air pollution in Southern California by focusing on cars, trucks and buses.
William G. Kleindienst, chairman of the MSRC, said the proposals most likely to be funded are those that include significant, measurable emissions reductions, demonstrate cost effectiveness and have verified co-funding.
Local governments, government agencies, businesses, research institutions and individuals are encouraged to apply.
This year's eligible categories include an On- and Off-Road Heavy Duty Vehicle Program and an Alternative Fuel Transit Bus Program, among others.
For more information about the program, visit the MSRC's web site at www.msrc-cleanair.org or call (909) 396-2777.
