Hub Group, Lombard, Ill., has upgraded its Internet-based customer services and adopted sophisticated yield management software.

According to Hub Group, the new customer service system allows customers to access their accounts on the Internet to track shipments reducing phone and fax traffic. The system was developed by Cysive Inc. of Reston, Va., a technology company.
The yield management software, called Strategic Profitability Analysis, is from Logistics.com, the transportation technology and e-commerce company of Burlington, Mass. Hub Group said the software will allow customers to solicit real-time pricing on the Web and enable Hub Group to better analyze traffic patterns and optimize operational opportunities.
Hub Group is an intermodal marketing company that also offers logistics and brokerage services, consolidates billing, and handles insurance claims.
