LTL carrier Southeastern Freight Lines, Inc., has purchased OptiSchedule, a strategic decision-support system from Logistics.com. The fleet worked with Logistics.com during an 18-month period to develop the OptiSchedule system, said to create efficient linehaul driver schedules by analyzing hundreds of complex constraints, such as equipment specifications,
service requirements, and mileage and hours-of-service restrictions.
Benefits of the OptiSchedule system are said to include improved linehaul resource and asset utilization, smoother workflow at major service centers, reduced linehaul miles, and improved service product delivery to Southeastern Freight Lines' customers.
The company currently uses Logistics.com's strategic network design and linehaul load planning tool, SuperSpin, and is in the process of installing Logistics.com's real-time forecasting and optimal linehaul driver-to-load assignment system, OptiDispatch, to power its centralized
linehaul dispatch operations.
