Freightliner Corp. has leased 12.2 acres of undeveloped property for a new corporate headquarters and has purchased a 100,000 square foot multi-tenant facility adjacent to its current headquarters building.
President Jim Hebe said the long-term goal is to consolidate all corporate offices on Portland, OR's Swan Island.
The company's customer support division and publishing group are already housed in the Ports O'Call building. Additional office space will be leased to other tenants and a restaurant will continue to operate in the facility.
The additional acreage, leased from the Port of Portland, is located on N. Port Center Way near the current Freightliner headquarters. A start date for the project hasn't been set.
Freightliner employs 5,330 people in Portland and nearly 22,000 nationwide.
