To offset the impact of a predicted 10-15% drop in North American new truck sales this year, Detroit Diesel will continue its cost cutting programs and "build on the strong fundamentals for growth in our service parts and remanufactured products operations," says president and CEO Charles McClure.

The company also recently supplemented its product range with a new 2.5 liter, 16 valve common rail automotive engine scheduled for production in the fourth quarter of 2000.
