Now that AlliedSignal has formally changed its name to Honeywell, AlliedSignal Truck Brake Systems Co. has become Honeywell Commercial Vehicle Systems Company, doing business as Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems.

"We've made this change to reflect our broad offering and to better represent the markets we serve," said Rick Batyko, director of communications and brand management. "Of course, we also wanted to add the great Bendix name to our company name."
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems is a joint venture owned 65% by Honeywell and 35% by Knorr-Bremse AG of Germany. Knorr-Bremse Systeme fur Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH is a European joint venture owned 20% by Honeywell, 60% by Knorr-Bremse AG and 21% by Robert Bosch GmbH of Germany.
The Truck Brake Systems Co. supplies air brake and filtration systems and components under the Bendix brand name for heavy-duty trucks, trailers, buses and other commercial vehicles in North America. With its joint venture partners, it serves the global commercial vehicle industry. Honeywell supplies heavy duty products include Garrett turbochargers, advanced cooling modules and charge air coolers; Prestone antifreeze; and Genetron refrigerants.
AlliedSignal and Honeywell merged in December of 1999.
