HighwayMaster Corp., Richardson, TX, has officially introduced its new trailer-tracking product called TrackWare.

According to HighwayMaster, a TrackWare unit can be attached to the exterior of a trailer by one person in less than 30 minutes without special tools. The unit charges when hooked to a tractor and can operate from 30 to 60 days when unhooked, depending on the frequency of signals required.
Trackware includes GPS and communicates over HighwayMaster's ground-based cellular system. Hardware costs about $500 and service ranges from $4.99 to $14.99 per month, depending on service levels.
A Windows-based host software application displays trailer location and status on a desktop PC or integrated with fleet software. TrackWare also integrates with ProMiles 99 from ProMiles Software Development Corp., Bridge City, TX, allowing customers to see trailer locations with street-level detail and print maps to help drivers locate trailers.
