Maverick Transportation, Little Rock, AR, has announced a new pay scale for drivers in its longhaul division.
Effective January 2, 2000, the company will institute a starting pay of 33¢ per mile for drivers in the longhaul fleet, with an increase to 33.5¢ per mile after one year. The rate continues to increase half a cent with every year of service up to 35¢ per mile. The company's regional fleet will start at 31¢ per mile and increase half a cent with every year of service up to 33¢ per mile.
