Park 'N View, which provides telecommunications and entertainment services provider to the long-haul trucking market, is changing its name and broadening its services.

The company, which will now be known as PNV.net, will expand beyond providing in-cab services to drivers. It will deliver an extensive range of services to travel centers, fleets, drivers, industry suppliers and advertisers. Park 'N View will still be the brand name for the package of services for drivers.
"We believe the Internet is rapidly becoming the platform of choice for commerce, communications, education and training for this industry," said Robert P. May, chief executive officer, PNV.net. "No one is better situated than PNV.net to capitalize on this trend."
PNV.net currently has exclusive long-term contracts with more than two-thirds, or about 800, of the full-service truck stops in the country. It is already providing in-cab service to more than 220 locations.
The company's expanded services target five core customer groups: individual long-haul drivers, long-haul trucking fleets, truckstop operators, industry suppliers and advertisers. The services include:
· Park 'N View In-Cab Driver Services: cable TV, local and long-distance telephone services, Internet access and PNV long distance minutes.
· PNV Fleet Services: virtual private network; digital PBX telecom network; in-cab phone, cable TV and Internet services; and PNV long distance services.· PNV Travel Center Services: in-stop public Internet access; in-cab Internet access, cable and phone services; pre-paid phone card program; in-stop public phone operations; in-bound/out-bound long distance; and managed frame relay and Voice Over IP (VOIP) services.
· PNV Web-based Services: a broad range of online and e-commerce services that will be rolled out beginning in September with the launch of PNV.net's Web portal. Initial applications will include trip routing, load posting, fuel pricing, personalized services (log book, e-mail, calendar, etc.) and more. This Web site will be designed not only for PNV.net members, but also for others in the trucking industry or interested in it.
· PNV Media Services: advertising services for industry suppliers and consumer products companies including Connect!, a newly expanded television programming guide and lifestyle magazine; Drivers Entertainment Network, featuring specially created programming; and PNV IVR interactive voice response advertising.
PNV.net has installed a high-speed, digital private network at each of its truckstop locations. A national T-1 backbone connects all sites to PNV.net's facilities in Coral Springs, Fla. The system allows the transfer of voice and data traffic over the Internet. This equipment provides digital 56k modems to enable local dial-up for the PNV.net Internet service as well as voice compression to support the company's Voice Over IP (VOIP) capability. The VOIP capability is used to send voice calls over a frame relay network, allowing on-net calls to be completed without variable long distance charges.
