Alternative Fuel Systems says it has successfully completed the next generation dual natural gas/diesel system designed for OEM use with new electronically controlled diesel engines.
The new AFS Eagle II incorporates two patented technologies, exhaust gas recirculation and the reversing flow catalyst, to meet tough new emissions standards around the world. The system reduces emissions of NOx, particulate matter, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide to levels previously unachievable in the diesel engine, according to the manufacturer.
In Japan, the system is being installed in Isuzu’s high-tech electronic 6HHI bus/truck engine.
