Oct. 14 – Volvo Trucks North America and Cummins Engine have announced they will join forces “to create innovative solutions for Volvo Trucks’ customers in North America.”
The first project will be several new Volvo truck models with Cummins engines developed and marketed as “Signature Series” products aimed at owner-operators.
In addition to product development, the agreement covers efforts in sales, marketing, and customer support.
According to Volvo Trucks’ President and CEO, Marc Gustafson, the agreement will help the two companies be more efficient in developing advanced vehicles and engines. Cummins says the agreement should strengthen its position in the heavyduty truck engine market.
