Rush Enterprises Reports Record Revenue, Profit Declines

Rush Enterprises, which operates the largest network of commercial vehicle dealerships in North America, reported record annual revenues of $3.4 billion in 2013 compared to $3.1 billion in 2012, while net profit slid to $49.2 million compared to $$62.5 million a year earlier.

International ProStar, TerraStar Win Truck of the Year Awards

Navistar International won both categories in the American Truck Dealers’ 2014 Commercial Truck of the Year competition with its ProStar heavy duty and TerraStar medium-duty models. ATD announced the winners at a lunch on Sunday, during its joint annual convention with the National Automobile Dealers Association in New Orleans. The trucks were among three heavy and four medium-duty models submitted by manufacturers for judging last fall.

Navistar's Turnaround Progress Overshadowed by Warranty Problems

The International Lonestar was the final Class 8 model to get the Cummins ISX engine with SCR.

While Navistar has made substantial progress in its Drive to Deliver turnaround program, it still reported worse financial results for its fourth fiscal quarter than it had aimed for. Executives said the main culprits were industry truck sales levels that didn't pick up as soon as expected, and the continuing high warranty costs for its legacy all-EGR EPA-2010 engines.

Navistar Reports 2Q Loss of $374 Million, Strong Increase in May Orders

Navistar International Corp. announced a second quarter net loss of $374 million, or $4.65 per diluted share, compared to a second quarter 2012 net loss of $172 million, or $2.50 per diluted share. At the same time, it said it has seen a strong increase in May Class 8 orders and announced it will start adding SCR aftertreatment to its medium-duty trucks.
