Navistar: LT Truck Sales Already 'Great,' Joint GM Project 'On Schedule'

Navistar's platooning rigs stayed 15 to 30 meters apart during demonstration on the grounds' 3-mile oval track. Automated steering, also called "lateral control," is among the active features.

SuperTruck and a pair of platooning rigs were also demonstrated at the company's proving grounds in Indiana on Wednesday.

International LT Launched Loudly, Described Enthusiastically

Popularity of Cummins ISX15 in ProStars led Navistar to choose the X15-powered LT625 as its initially introduced model. Cummins engines will be offered "as long as customers want them," a marketing exec said.

Navistar unveiled its new International LT series in Las Vegas on Sept. 30 with speeches, videos, hard rock music, and fire-and-smoke effects – a launch befitting a "Vegas" production and a vehicle range that will become the company’s flagship model and, executives hope, the most popular highway tractor on the market.
