World's Biggest Construction Show Features Vocational Trucks

A Volvo Trucks demonstration at the huge Bauma construction show in Germany.

An impressive 530,000 visitors from over 200 countries converged on the Messe München exhibition center in Munich, Germany, between April 15 and 21 for the giant construction equipment show, Bauma, where there were also plenty of vocational trucks on display.

Daimler Trucks North America Achieves Market Share, Fuel Efficiency Milestones

Daimler Trucks North America wants to expand its export business, such as this Australian Argosy.

Daimler Trucks North America outlined a number of milestones and achievements it accomplished over the past year, including being the market leader in Class 6 and 7 for the first time ever, completing Phase One of the SuperTruck program, and announcing a new international export goal. This announcement was made during an event for North American trade press this week in Cabos San Lucas, Mexico.

European Regulators Scotch UPS/TNT Deal

It looks like United Parcel Service's proposed deal to buy European package giant TNT Express will not go through, after the European Commission informed the two companies that it is working on a decision to prohibit the proposed acquisition. UPS announced last March plans to acquire Dutch package company TNT Express for 5.16 billion euros or $6.8 billion. It would have been UPS' biggest purchase to date
