"Thank you for looking at the impossible and finding a safe way to make it possible." That's what Nevada Gov. Brian Sondoval said to Daimler Trucks North America officials when he officially granted the first license for an autonomous commercial truck to operate on an open public highway in the United States.

Daimler Achieves 115% Efficiency Improvement with SuperTruck

Daimler Trucks North America unveiled its futuristic SuperTruck at the 2015 Mid-America Trucking Show, saying the project exceeded the company’s expectations. The DTNA SuperTruck has achieved 115% freight efficiency improvement, surpassing the Department of Energy program’s goal of 50% improvement.

Freightliner Adds 12-Liter Natural Gas Power to 114SD Severe-Duty Model

The increased output of the Cummins-Westport ISX12 G will open new markets to the 114SD, including mixer, dump, and roll-off applications. At 400 horsepower and 1,450 pounds-feet, the IXS12 G is an ideal engine for the severe-duty market, where natural gas is fast becoming an alternative to diesel fuel.
