Project to Test 'Platooning' Trucks

A new Federal Highway Administration research project will test "platooning" two trucks with the goal of saving fuel and decreasing traffic congestion. The team will research partial automation for two-truck platooning, integrating vehicle-to-vehicle communications with adaptive cruise control.

AASHTO Names Former FHWA Official Executive Director

Bud Wright will be the seventh executive director to lead AASHTO.

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials' Board of Directors voted to approve Frederick G. "Bud" Wright to be the seventh executive director to lead the nearly 100-year-old organization
