Daimler Execs Upbeat About Truck Sales, Concerned About CARB

MATS, LOUISVILLE, KY -- Truck orders at Daimler Trucks North America over the past four months are up 30% over the previous year, so the company has been gradually ramping up production and expects a strong 2014. However, the involvement of the California Air Resources Board in writing the next round of federal emissions regulations has them concerned.

Bay Area Air District Allocates $5 Million to Reduce Truck-Related Emissions

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District announced that it will allocate $5 million dollars to fund more of the truck replacement applications received during the recent Goods Movement Program solicitation. The funds will be used to assist Bay Area truck owners in meeting the state’s approaching air quality mandates.

California Adds Funding for Cleaner-Burning Trucks

The California Air Resources Board announced millions more in funding for state programs to help truckers comply with the state's emissions regulations through its Truck Loan Assistance Program and its Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project.

Thermo King Pays Penalty for Violating CARB Pollution Laws

The California Air Resources Board has fined Minneapolis-based Thermo King $213,200 for violating terms of the conditional verification granted to its Thermo King eDPF, diesel particulate filter.

CARB Issues Reefer Compliance Reminder

The California Air Resources Board has issued an advisory recommending transport refrigeration unit (reefer) owners take action to plan and order compliance options to ensure TRU model year 2006 engines, or units manufactured in 2006, comply with in-use performance standards by the end of this year.
