2014 Trailer Market to Increase 2.2%, Says FTR

FTR's forecast for the 2014 U.S. Trailer is 240,000 units, a 2.2% increase over 2013. FTR expects dry vans to show a 2% year-over-year increase while reefer vans will remain flat. Flatbeds, dumps and low beds are all expected to show greater increases as construction and manufacturing improve.

Chevy City Express will compete against Nissan&amp;rsquo;s NV200, on which the new small Chevy van is based, and against Ford&amp;rsquo;s Transit Connect.

Paccar Reports Record Revenue for Last Year

Paccar has installed more than 51,000 of its MX-13 engines in Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks in North America since the start of production in 2010.

Paccar, the parent to truck makers Peterbilt and Kenworth, reported record revenue of $17.12 billion in 2013 compared to revenue of $17.05 billion the year before.
