Omnitracs has released a new mobile workforce app for tracking the activities and location of workers on the job.

Omnitracs Tracking, powered by Roadnet, uses a smart device’s built-in GPS to provide information on both location and speed. The app also allows users to set parameters for maximum speed, over road speed, location, and activity to better identify behaviors that lead to unsafe driving and reduced productivity.

The information, accessed through a a web-based application, can be used to updated customers on the status of deliveries and service calls, and to proactively address unwanted driver behaviors.

“Our newest basic tracking application will give companies the tools they need to better manage their mobile workforce and take fast, appropriate action to improve safety and productivity,” said Omnitracs Chief Technology Officer Dan Speicher.
