Kenworth Truck Company recently announced that the T680 is now available for order with a natural gas–powered engine. The day cab, 52-inch mid-roof sleeper, and 76-inch sleeper configurations now can be ordered with the factory-installed Cummins Westport ISX12 G natural gas engine rated up to 400 horsepower and 1,450 lb.-ft. of torque.

The ISX12 G requires a single fuel source and can run on either compressed natural gas or liquefied natural gas. The engine uses a maintenance-free, three-way catalyst and does not require a diesel exhaust fluid tank, diesel particulate filter or selective catalytic reduction technology. Kenworth works with such companies as Agility Fuel Systems, Trilogy Engineered Solutions, and McNeilus to provide natural gas tanks and fueling systems.
