Continental Commercial Vehicle & Aftermarket has added capabilities to its VDO RoadLog software to include hours-of-service compliance for Canada, Alaska and oilfield service.

The company says the updates allow drivers to stay compliant with HOS rules, even when crossing international borders, and that the expanded capabilities for Canada address individual sets of compliance rules that apply to north and south of the 60N latitude.

The software also includes compliance with special HOS rules covering drivers serving the oilfield industry.

The company’s VDO RoadLog is a stand-alone device that combines GPS information with vehicle data to create a digital log the driver can either download or print as needed.

The software’s design allows for continuous updates as HOS rules change and evolve, the company says.
