“Book a load, reap the benefits.” That’s what Uber Freight is promising drivers, owner-operators and small fleets who use the Uber Freight app, with discounts on everything from a new or used International truck to fuel and tires through its new Uber Freight Plus program.

Uber Freight, launched in May of last year, provides a free, easy-to-use app that seamlessly connects trucking companies with loads to haul. Last August, it expanded the geography served beyond its initial focus on Texas and added personalized load matching to its instant load booking/fast payment system. In December, it added more features to the personalized load-matching options.

With the addition of Uber Freight Plus, Uber Freight users can save up to $16,000 in customer value on the purchase of a new International DuraStar, LT Series, RH Series, or LoneStar model trucks, or a rebate of up to $4,000 on a used International truck.

Also available is 20% to 50% in parts savings through an enhanced Navistar Fleet Charge credit card, with parts available for all brands and makes.

A new Uber Freight Fuel Card, prepaid or credit, powered by Comdata, will provide savings of 20 cents per gallon at participating TA and Petro locations, along with discounts on preventive maintenance, DOT Inspections, and RoadSquad breakdown calls at all TA Truck Service locations. TA and Petro locations also offer a Nationwide Commercial Tire Network with discounts on new and used tires.

There are also fuel price discounts at participating Roady’s Truck Stops and up to 30% savings on Goodyear tires.

“This was a natural fit for us as both companies are aligned to help trucking companies, big and small, run and grow their businesses,” said Greg Secord, President of Comdata North America Trucking. Users of the card also can leverage Comdata’s expertise to provide the compliance services fleets need to meet IFTA and state permit requirements, he said.

Uber Freight also has partnered with Sprint and AT&T to provide discounts on eligible mobile service plans.

“For trucking companies, the costs of running a business add up fast,” the company said in a blog post announcing Uber Freight Plus. “From fuel, which can amount to 34% of trucking costs, to maintenance and tires, which together eat another 10%, these significant costs are an endless challenge. While some larger companies can offset these expenses by negotiating bulk discounts, most have to pay full price to keep their trucks on the road.

“Uber Freight’s mission is to help trucking companies, big and small, run and grow their businesses.”

In the coming months, Uber Freight said it will continue to add new partners, discounts and services to the program.
