LAS VEGAS – Lytx announced new enhancements to its DriveCam video-based telematics safety program that Chairman and CEO Brandon Nixon said “will streamline workflow, capture even more unsafe driving behaviors, and make fleet tracking easier for fleet managers on the go.”

Speaking at the American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference & Exhibition, Nixon noted that the company also recently unveiled its new “video-without-limits” Unisyn platform as well as ActiveVision service updates.

"We have deep partnerships with our clients, and they're our best collaborators in the DriveCam program's evolution," said Nixon. "We are constantly looking for new ways to make their tough jobs easier, and to make the time they have with their drivers more effective."

Nixon said that Lytx has developed and patented a new way for fleets to identify when their drivers go through a posted stop sign without coming to a complete stop. He said the new Rolling Stop trigger will initiate video capture for use by fleets in coaching the driver to help eliminate the behavior.

Lytx has also developed a new Roll Stability trigger, which Nixon calledan innovative way for fleets to identify when their drivers are triggering their third-party roll-stability system, indicating that driving behavior, such as speed, and/or road conditions are inconsistent with the load the driver is hauling.” The triggered and captured video can be used by fleets in coaching drivers to help decrease the likelihood of rollover events.

In addition, Lytx announced its new Mobile Fleet Tracking solution, which allows tracking and managing vehicles from any mobile device. Nixon said the solution, designed with an intuitive map interface, enables:

  • Live fleet maps across phone, tablet and desktop, to understand at a glance and on the go, where each vehicle is

  • Vehicle search and list management, to manage your fleet in real time

  • GeoFence administration, to track and manage fleet vehicle routes

  • Vehicle history, to understand where the vehicle has been, and when

Data from the service is integrated with DriveCam data to give fleet managers and business owners a more complete picture of driving behavior.

Aimed at improving workflow efficiency, Lytx also introduced a completely redesigned cloud-based workspace for users of the DriveCam Enterprise program. Nixon said the web-based workspace employs state-of-the-art data visualization design principles, “serving up information that is most relevant to that particular user, whether a coach, a safety manager or a business owner.”

The new DriveCam Enterprise workspace is customized to the user's role. According to Nixon, it knows the user's service configuration and delivers only the relevant data to make decision-making and coaching easier. “The user is never more than four clicks away from 100% of the information they need to coach a driver, from selecting the driver for coaching to task completion.”

Nixon said these DriveCam enhancements – the new triggers, Mobile Fleet Tracking, and the redesigned DriveCam Enterprise workspace – are expected to roll out throughout 2017.
