One of the nation’s largest truckstop chains will soon have one less location, and truckers will reportedly lose nearly 130 parking spaces along the Interstate 81 corridor.

The Travel Centers of America in Troutville, Virginia, is set to close this week following eminent domain procedures by the state as part of a move to improve highway access off exit 150 in Troutville, which is located nearby Roanoke.

According to Landlinemag.com, the company and Virginia officials have been going back and forth about a possible relocation of the business, but so far nothing has been made official.

The move is expected to cost Virginia more than $6 million to purchase the property from TA, just a fraction of the highway project’s estimated cost of $46.5 million.

If the TA does not relocate, it will lead to a 5% reduction in parking spaces along I-81 in the state, based on a 2012 survey of available trucking parking spaces conducted by the I-81 Corridor Coalition.
