Divers traveling southbound on Interstate 35W in northeast Minneapolis will see detours from Oct. 3-6 while repair crews work.

Traffic will be diverted to southbound Highway 280 and westbound Interstate 94. Access to eastbound Highway 36 from southbound Interstate 35W will remain open. Drivers will also be able to access southbound Interstate 35W from 4th street SE/University Avenue.

The crews will be repairing the de-icing system on the southbound Interstate 35 W bridge at Johnson Street. They will also be making repairs to guardrails and lighting as well as patching and resurfacing other parts of the road.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is urging drivers to be attentive, drive with caution, slow-down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
