Nominations for its 32nd North America Highway Hero Award run through Nov. 29 on the Goodyear Highway Hero webpage. Nominees must be full-time truck drivers in the U.S. or Canada who performed their heroic act from Nov. 16, 2013, to Nov. 16, 2014. The nominee has to have been on the job at the time of the incident driving a truck with at least 12 wheels in the U.S. or Canada.

“Over the last 30 plus years we’ve heard hundreds of stories about the bravery and selflessness of truck drivers,” said Gary Medalis, marketing director at Goodyear. “If you know a driver who has performed a heroic act, please let us know.”

After the nominations have been received, Goodyear will narrow it down to four finalists and a panel of trucking industry judges will select the Goodyear Highway Hero. The winner will be announced next March during the 2015 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky.

The award is in its 32nd year and was established in 1983. The 2014 Highway Hero winner was Ivan Vasovic, a truck driver from Rancho Cucamonga, California, who rescued a driver who fell from a burning tanker truck that was hanging over the side of a freeway overpass.
