In an effort to match up available jobs in trucker with prospective candidates, the Iowa Motor Truck Association has created and launched an interactive jobs board specific to the trucking industry.

On July 1, IATruckingJobs.com went live.

“The trucking industry is facing a major labor shortage and, in an effort to help our members, the association wanted to create another avenue for recruitment.” said IMTA President Brenda Neville. “There are literally hundreds of job openings in the trucking industry today that offer above average pay and benefits packages.”

In less than one week since its debut, the website has been populated with more than 100 job openings and 25 businesses seeking new hires, according to the association, with the number growing each day. A majority of the postings are for truck drivers, but maintenance/technician, logistics, operations and other rewarding careers within Iowa’s transportation industry are also available.

Beyond giving its members an outlet to post careers, the IMTA said is also working to connect qualified job candidates to the new website through a marketing approach that incorporates both Facebook and Google. Once on the site, job seekers can create a profile to search and apply for desirable positions.

When applying, a standardized, DOT-compliant application will be sent directly to the employer of the listed job on behalf the job seeker, according to IMTA. All information entered into the application is securely transmitted and then stored as part of the job seeker’s site profile. This information only needs updated when changes are necessary.
