The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association announced a new director of state legislative affairs. Mike Matousek will be responsible for tracking and analyzing state legislative initiatives and proactively fighting for the rights of all truckers within state legislatures.

He is originally from Enterprise, Fla., and graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Political Science.  

He started his career in legislative affairs by going to Washington, D.C. to work for Congressman John Mica and later went to work for Congressman Sam Graves where he was eventually appointed to legislative director. Since 2012 he has been on the professional staff for the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure working on hearings and legislation and roundtables.
