While Super Bowl XLVIII is still a few days away but it’s already affecting traffic in parts of New York City and New Jersey.

The game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J . on Sunday has resulted in street closures and parking restrictions that will be in place through Feb. 6.

In preparation for this event, there will also be an increase of law enforcement patrols on the major and ancillary roadways near the venue to ensure traffic safety and compliance with all local, state, and federal motor vehicle laws, according to the New York State Motor Truck Association, with an emphasis on the monitoring of commercial motor vehicle traffic along with inspections and enforcement of safety violations pertaining to these vehicles.

The New Jersey Motor Truck Association advises prior to the game New Jersey Routes 3 and 17 in the Garden State should be avoided due to an increase in traffic in and around the stadium.
