The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is reminding carriers to update their registration information with the agency.

It notes that all companies under FMCSA jurisdiction are required to perform the update every two years as part of the new Unified Registration System, even if nothing has changed, the company no longer is involved in interstate operations or is no longer in business, but has yet to notify the agency.

Failure to complete an update can result in the deactivation of a U.S. DOT number and a civil penalty of up to a $1,000 per day, but not to exceed $10,000.

You can get more information on updating your company’s registration, find out how to register my mail, sign up for training webinar on how to register or get other registration information by logging on to the FMCSA website
