Motorists in Minneapolis will encounter overnight delays and detours on Interstate 94 and Interstate 35W beginning Monday June 24. Crews will close sections the roadway to set the beams on the Park Avenue Bridge which spans the two freeways. Closures are in effect from 10p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Monday, June 24, southbound I-35W between Highway 55 and the I-94/35W split and the westbound I-94 ramp to southbound I-35W, will close.
  • Tuesday, June 25, westbound I-94 between Highway 280 and the I-94/35W split will close. In addition, the ramps from southbound I-35W, Highway 55, 25th Avenue, Huron Boulevard, Franklin Avenue and southbound Highway 280 to westbound I-94, will close.
  • Wednesday June 26, eastbound I-94 between the I-35W/94 split and Chicago Avenue and the 5th Avenue (also known as the Franklin Avenue Ramp) ramp from to eastbound I-94, will close.
  • Thursday, June 27, northbound I-35W between Highway 65 and Park Avenue and the 5th Avenue ramp (also known as the Franklin Avenue Ramp) to northbound I-35W, will close. 

During the closures, traffic will be detoured to westbound and eastbound Interstate 694, Highway 280 and northbound and southbound Interstate 35W.
