The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will host a listening session on its pending driver training rule at the Mid-America Trucking Show on March 22.

The agency, which is under orders from Congress to post a final rule by October, has been working on a proposal for years. The most recent version would require anyone applying for a new or updated CDL to graduate from an accredited program that includes road training as well as class training.

The listening session will start at 1 p.m. on March 22 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, the site of this year’s show.

More information is available in the Feb. 28 Federal Register.
